Pawpaw is in season and one of the ways to enjoy is to take it as juice. This is good especially for children who may not be able to chew it very well. Pawpaw juice from the ripe papaya fruit is sweet and high in sugars. So, take in moderation.
According to information available, Pawpaw is a very good source of dietary fibre and potassium. It is also a very good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Folate.“
What you need
Ripe mashed pawpaw (about 1 large ), 1 Tbs lemon juice or (2 to 3 limes) and water
What you do
Peel the pawpaw. Use a spoon to scrape out the seeds from the core. Cut into cubes. Use a spoon to press and force through a strainer. Blend together mashed pawpaw, water and lemon juice. Mix well, chill and serve. To enjoy it more, store in the fridge. Adding less water makes pawpaw nectar. The nectar is a little thicker and served on ice.
