Alvaro Morata has signed an 18-month loan deal with Spanish club Atletico Madrid from Chelsea.
Morata moved to Stamford Bridge 18 months ago in a club-record deal but he has struggled to adapt to English football.
The Spanish international hasn’t scored in the Premier League since the start of November and has been left out of the matchday squad by Maurizio Sarri in recent weeks.
His exit paved way for the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus.
Morata scored 24 goals in 72 appearances during his one-and-a-half season spell at Stamford Bridge
Recall that Morata had two spells with Atletico’s city rivals Real and enjoyed an impressive season in 2016-17 before moving to Chelsea.
“I feel very happy, I am very happy and very proud to be here, I cannot wait to train, be with my teammates and to play,” Morata told Atletico Madrid’s official website.

Good luck, Alvaro! 👊
