BREAKING: At Last, Cassie Ventura Speaks On Sean Combs Diddy Domestic Abuse Video—CASANDRA “Cassie” Ventura has spoken out on the brutal 2016 assault she suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The R&B singer, 37, released an emotional statement on Thursday, nearly a week after the horrific video was released.
Cassie thanked everyone for their support and admitted she’s still recovering from the domestic violence experience.
“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” Cassie said.
“The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.
“Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become.
“With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but will always be recovering from my past.
“Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to take this matter seriously.”
The singer continued. “My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time.
“It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in.
“I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.
“This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you.”
Recall, CNN released surveillance footage on May 16 showing Combs, 54, viciously striking, kicking, and dragging Cassie across a hotel lobby.
The gut-wrenching assault took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles in 2016.
The troubling incident matched the allegations Cassie made in the lawsuit she filed against the Bad Boy CEO in New York in November 2023.
The suit, which was settled by both parties a day after it was filed, read, “Ms. Ventura tried to leave the hotel room, but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura.
“He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her.
“He grabbed at her and then took glass vases in the hallways and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.”
