Why Oriyomi Hamzat pulled out of the Mohbad case
Broadcast investigative journalist and activist Oriyomi Hamzat was threatened with lawsuits 24 hours after he interviewed Joseph Aloba. The powerful entities even vowed to slap his radio station with NBC fines if he takes up the case. The Senior Advocate nonentities Falanas at work. Their power will diminish before 2023 ends. Hamzat cited social media influencers making money from the case disguised as activists that care. He said he does not want the drama and entertainment the murky waters of lawsuits and radio fines. The criminal defamation law in the Nigeria police criminal code must be REPEALED. They have used it to arrest several journalists including me in 2017 and Oriyomi in 2022 accusing him of cyberbullying Adedoyin in the Adegoke murder. Adedoyin was eventually sentenced to death.
DEFAMATION IS CIVIL IN EVERY MODERN COUNTRY EXCEPT NIGERIA
WHERE MANY OF US JOURNALISTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED, PERSECUTED AND LEFT THE COUNTRY.
Hamzat said he no longer wanted that drama. He lives and runs Agidigbo FM in Ibadan, Nigeria. Stop censoring journalists
