The Blues are on the hunt for their first win of the league season after drawing with Liverpool on the first weekend and then being defeated by West Ham United on Sunday. Chelsea, despite being beaten at the London Stadium, actually controlled the game at times but were ineffective in front of goal which ultimately cost them.
Mauricio Pochettino has not had too long to prepare his players for the trip of newly-promoted Luton. The Blues of course go into the match as huge favourites but Pochettino will be drilling into his players just how significant of a game this one is.
The Argentine, though, will be without nine players for tonight’s game. Mykhailo Mudryk is the latest player to fall victim to injury with the Ukraine international suffering a minor problem in training this week and will miss this fixture at Stamford Bridge.
Likewise, Benoît Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka, Marcus Bettinelli, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah are also not available for this evening.
