Lagos LG Polls: RAK Foundation Commends LASIEC, Security Operatives Over Conduct Election—The Pioneer of Real Acts of Kindness (RAK) Foundation, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende on Sunday commended the officials of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and security operatives for creating a conducive environment for voting in Badagry communities.
Ogunlende made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Badagry.
According to him, the election was very fair and peaceful, there was no incident in Badagry communities throughout.
“I was privileged to visit three communities in Badagry and the election was fair and credible.
“The electoral officers were on ground doing their lawful duty and there were presence of security operatives and volunteers in every polling unit,” he said.
He urged the winner of the council election to work positively and move their local governments forward
“The just concluded council poll is just the beginning and we will surely get to the top.
“The reelected chairmen should challenge themselves to do better while the fresh chairmen should work towards the betterment of grassroots dwellers,” he said.
According to the Pioneer of RAK, I did not see any serious opposition on ground ioted.
Ogunlende advised that more political parties should participate in future elections to create an opportunity for the electorate to choose the best of the best to represent them at grassroots level.
“In honesty, we would have loved to see vibrant opposition who will create checks and balances.
“In the Badagry election, there were few opposition parties but we would love to see more because the beauty of democracy is when we have various political parties vie for different posts.
“This will give the citizens the opportunity to choose the best of the best,” he said.
