BREAKING: Tension As Benue University Students Abducted On Campus—The Genius Media Nigeria reports that some students of the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi (FUAM), the Benue State capital, have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
This reliable platform gathered that this was made known in a statement on Monday by the Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Rosemary Waku, the school management confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday night.
According to the institution’s PRO, the gunmen took an unspecified number of students away at gunpoint on campus after shooting sporadically.
The development comes less than a week after students of Greenfield University, Kaduna, were also abducted on campus.
Few days after their abduction, three of the students killed by the bandits on Friday.
In a statement on Friday, Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the remains of the three students were found at Kwanar Bature village, a location close to the university, on Friday.
He added that Governor Nasir El-Rufai has described the killing of three students as sheer wickedness, inhumanity, and an outright desecration of human lives by vile entities.
Aruwan said the governor, on behalf of the Government and the people of Kaduna state, sent deep condolences and empathy to the families of the students and the university community, as he prayed for the repose of their souls.
The commissioner added that the state government will keep citizens informed of further developments.
