This online news platform understands that the Otedola Bridge fire accident occurred on the Otedola Bridge after a tanker lorry fully loaded with petroleum products fell, leaked, and exploded.

The massive fire at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway broke out after the explosion of a petroleum-filled tanker lorry leading to the transfer of flames to other vehicles approaching the lorry on the Otedola Bridge.
In a video circulating on the micro-blogging site, X, formerly known as Twitter, an eyewitness could be heard explaining that the “explosion started before the fire came out“.
