During Democratic National Convention, Stephanie Grisham Vowed To Vote For Harris.
The Genius Media reports that Stephanie Grisham, who once served as White House press secretary under the Trump administration, made a surprising appearance at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, where she voiced her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, declaring, “She has my vote.”
During her speech on the convention’s second night, Grisham reflected on her time working for former President Donald Trump, offering a scathing critique of her former boss.
She accused Trump of having “no empathy, no morals, and no fidelity to the truth,” and claimed he often “mocks his supporters,” referring to them as “basement dwellers.”
Grisham also shared a poignant moment from January 6, 2021, the day of the Capitol riot. She recounted how she asked then-First Lady Melania Trump to issue a statement condemning the violence, only to be met with a firm “no.”
This refusal prompted Grisham to resign from her White House position, a decision that was met with applause from the crowd of Democratic delegates.
Expressing her deep love for her country, Grisham stated, “I love my country more than my party,” and praised Kamala Harris for her honesty and respect for the American people. “Kamala Harris tells the truth. She respects the American people, and she has my vote,” she affirmed.
Grisham is among a group of Republicans who have taken the stage at the Democratic National Convention.
In the lead-up to her speech, she urged her fellow Republicans to join her in preventing Donald Trump’s return to the White House. “I never imagined I’d be speaking at a Democratic convention,” Grisham said in a statement. “But after witnessing firsthand who Donald Trump truly is, and the danger he poses to our nation, I feel compelled to speak out.”
Having held various roles in the Trump White House before resigning in the aftermath of the January 6 attack, Grisham acknowledged that she doesn’t agree with Harris on every issue. However, she emphasized that she is “proud to be supporting her” bid for the presidency, adding that Harris will “defend our freedoms and represent our nation with honesty and integrity.”
Grisham’s participation in the convention isn’t an isolated instance of former Trump officials breaking ranks. Olivia Troye, a former national security adviser under Trump, is also scheduled to speak later in the week, according to a Harris campaign official.
Additionally, the convention will feature Republican speakers like John Giles, the mayor of Mesa, Arizona; former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan; and former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, all of whom have expressed opposition to Trump.
Kinzinger confirmed his participation, stating he would be speaking on Thursday.
