Nigerian prolific striker, Victor Osimhen still prefer to join Paris Saint-Germain despite a breakdown in talks between Napoli and the French side.
Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen reportedly prefers to move back to French Ligue 1 where he spent a season with Lille before he made his €77 million move to Napoli in 2020.
Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg revealed earlier today, August 15, via his official X page that Victor Osimhen, who has decided to leave Napoli this summer, wishes to join Paris Saint Germain.
Osimhen has reportedly drawn interest from several top clubs, including PSG, Arsenal, and Chelsea. However, Plettenberg suggested that Osimhen is focused on a potential move to PSG and is not actively pursuing a transfer to the Premier League at this time.
Despite Chelsea’s efforts to sign the 25-year-old striker, Osimhen’s preference appears to be a move to Paris.
The report also noted that PSG may face challenges in pursuing Osimhen due to existing contracts with attacking-minded players such as Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos.
“[I] understand that Victor Osimhen still wants to join PSG until deadline day as PSG is definitely his desired destination. Chelsea [are] still trying to sign the [25-year-old] striker and [I have] been told that there was also a loose approach from Arsenal weeks a go,” Plettenberg wrote on X.
“But Osimhen is not currently pushing for a move to the Premier League. His preference is [moving to] Paris but [PSG] can’t proceed as [Randal] Kolo Muani [and Goncalo] Ramos are under contract.”
Note that Victor Osimhen had earlier agreed on personal terms with PSG but the deal collapsed because the French side failed to agree on a transfer fee with Napoli
