“Adapt To Changes, Strategize And Thrive In 2024” – FirstBank CEO Advises Businesses In Nigeria–The Chief Executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Dr Adesola Adeduntan has urged businesses to adopt means of actively adjusting their business strategies in quick response to shifting government policies in the new year, 2024.

While speaking at the FBN Summit, the bank executive explained that it was important and necessary for businesses in the country to be up to speed with the current happenings and changes in government policies as it will help in shaping their strategies and activities.

The summit themed “Nigeria Economic Outlook 2024: Current Realities and Prospects” was organized by the topmost bank as part of the new year activities for its stakeholders.

Dr Adeduntan emphasized on the need for businesses to take decisive actions with a positive and future-oriented approach instead of explanations and excuses that may arises due to their inactions. He urged them to tap into the opportunities that the Nigerian economy had presented for businesses to thrive and potentially gain significant benefits.

Citing the recently signed appropriation bill of 2024 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the CEO expressed optimism about the economy stating the record spending of N28.7tr which has a significant allocation for capital expenditure. He noted that there was potential for economic stimulus that would benefit only serious-minded market players.

Adeduntan expressed First Bank’s strong commitment to supporting businesses and assured them of being a key ally in all their business strategies. He also stressed that history only favours those who take action rather than those who are always ready to explain their inaction as he pointed out the importance of proactive business adaptation in response to changing government policies and priorities.

He said: “How do we as FirstBank, a bank, that has heeded and supported our customers through different economic cycles over the last 130 years, how do we continue to play that pivotal role to heed your business, to heed your understanding of experts and we believe the economy is likely to pan out in the course of 2024 to ensure that you take full benefit of that?
