CNN Projection called the race for Beshear at 8:57 p.m. Eastern time, with an estimated 82% of the vote counted.
Beshear held a lead with 53.2% of the vote, followed by Cameron with 46.8%
Beshear maintained a lead in a majority of polls in the month leading up to the general election for Kentucky governor, according to polling analysis from FiveThirtyEight.
