The 92-year-old billionaire entered his plea this morning at Southwark Crown Court in London.
It means he will no longer face trial next month on the same charge.
In June 2015, Ecclestone failed to declare a trust in Singapore with a bank account containing around 650 million US dollars – worth around £400 million at the time.
