BREAKING: Scott #McTominay Stoppage-Time Brace Seal Win For Manchester United Against #Brentford—-Manchester United’s miserable start to the season looked to have continued as Erik ten Hag’s side struggled badly against Brentford at Old Trafford in their Premier League encounter – but that was before stoppage time. Scott McTominay, incredibly, netted twice in added time to completely turn the match on its head with the hosts grabbing a dramatic last-gasp victory.
Scott McTominay of Manchester United celebrates after scoring their sides first goal during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Brentford FC at Old Trafford
Scott McTominay scored an incredible stoppage-time brace as Manchester United came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 at Old Trafford.
A series of United errors allowed Brentford to take a first-half lead as first Casemiro gave the ball away, Victor Lindelof failed to clear after Yoane Wissa drove into the box and Andre Onana should have saved Mathias Jensen’s shot – but didn’t, letting the ball squirm under his body.
Brentford were good value for their lead and came agonisingly close to a first win at Old Trafford since 1937, but substitute McTominay had other ideas and levelled in the 93rd minute after reacting first to a rebound.
And in the 97th minute, Harry Maguire flicked on a free kick to McTominay, who planted a header beyond the goalkeeper and sent Old Trafford wild.
The win ends a run of back-to-back United defeats at home and lifts them to ninth in the table on 12 points.
