BREAKING: Reno Is Not My First Name Nor My Second Name – #Omokri—–Former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri has revealed why he does not he does not use his real name.
He made this known via his official X page while replying a comment from an inquirer over President Tinubu’s Chicago State University Certificate Saga
This is coming when one of this follower asked why Tinubu’s name was wrongly spelt on his graduation yearbook.
Replying him on why Tinubu’s name was wrongly spelt, he made reference to his case name saying whilst he attended elementary school in California in 1983, his family called him Bemigho. But in school, he was called Be-Michael. Out of frustration, he gave them his second name, Gbubemi. They called it Boogy me. Finally, in desperation, he gave them my other name, Reno, because there is a town in California called Reno.
The tweet read in full:
Dear @Maliya_Ocean08 Thank you for your feedback. This was in 1979. You are probably too young to remember an analogue world. Westerners find it hard to pronounce and spell many African names.
For example, Reno is not my first name. It is not even my second name. Whilst I attended elementary school in California in 1983, my family called me Bemigho. But in school, I was called Be-Michael. Out of frustration, I gave them my second name, Gbubemi. They called it Boogy me. Finally, in desperation, I gave them my other name, Reno, because there is a town in California called Reno.
That is how I became Reno. If not that I had parents with a strong affinity to their African culture, they would have plucked out one oyibo name from the ether for me so I could blend.
In those days, you used to write your name long hand. White folks will struggle with many African names and misspell them. Chicago State University has deposed to an affidavit in court that this was due to a clerical error.
Even today, many people experience that worldwide.
For example, search for the name Mummar Gadaffi, you will see various spellings. Even our former President, Mohammadu Buhari, has some of his certificates bearing Mohammed. Yakubu Gowon has Jack Gowon in some of his certificates.
But if you still have doubts, then contact Chicago State University via their phone number (+1 (773) 995-2517) and their email address (CSU-Registrar@csu.edu).

Fact check check shows that truely, Reno isnt his real name but Reno is a city in the northwest section of the U.S. state of Nevada, along the Nevada-California border, about 22 miles (35 km) north from Lake Tahoe
