Godwin #Emefiele Ruined Nigeria’s Financial System – President Tinubu Breaks Silence—-President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accused the suspended Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) Mr Godwin Emefiele of presiding over a rotten financial system in Nigeria which scared away foreign investors and diaspora cash remittance into the country.
Breaking his silence in faraway France for the first time since Emefiele was suspended and arrested by the Department of State Service, President Tinubu told Nigerian residents in France, during an interactive session, that there was a need to halt the frightening slide of the nation’s financial system under Emefiele.
Tinubu noted that under the suspended CBN governor, Nigerians abroad were unable to send money to their relatives because of the multiple exchange rates, saying all that has become a thing of the past.
“Then the financial system was rotten. Few people making bags of our money and then you yourself, you stopped sending money home to our poor parents. Several windows… but that is gone now, is gone.
“The man is in the hands of authorities, something is being done about that, they will sort themselves out.”
President Tinubu was in France for a two-day summit on global financing pact.
