BREAKING: “Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover“, Reno Omokri Speaks As Hurricane Tinubu Sacks Comptroller-General of Customs, All Service Chiefs—Reno Omokri, a popular social commentator, has reacted to the sacking of all service chiefs including the Inspector-General of Police.
This online news paper reported earlier that President Bola Tinubu retired all the service chiefs and also approved the replacement of the Comptroller-General of Customs.
According to a statement signed by George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, their retirement is with immediate effect.
Reacting via his Twitter page, Reno commended Tinubu for relieving the service chiefs of their duties, appeal to the President to find a way to reflect the Southeast commensurately to their population, and not according to the votes they gave him
He tweeted:
Funny enough, President Tinubu is acting the way we expected a former General to act. Unfortunately, the former General we had acted even below what we expected from an inexperienced civilian.
Moral of the story: Don’t judge a book by its cover!
Four days ago, I said that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is “effectively the National Security Adviser”. Some laughed. But today, there is no more ambiguity. Of all the appointments President Tinubu has made so far, this one is the most impactful. I have met leaders at various levels, yet, it is hard to say that I have encountered anyone as patriotic and morally upright as Mallam Ribadu.
His sense of purpose will help ground President Tinubu’s administration and increase Nigeria’s standing in the international community.
Mallam Ribadu is not a Northern Nigerian. He is a Nigerian who happens to come from the North. He is blind to tribe, region and religion in performing his duties. What he sees is character. And as long as you have it, you will pass the smell test with him.
Congratulations again, big brother. My family and I celebrate with you.
Hurricane Tinubu strikes again. In one fell swoop, he has demonstrated that he is the Commander-in-Chief. This is the type of courage that has been missing in Aso Rock. Now our military and security services will sit up. What a man! Talk about hitting the ground running. No ambiguity about who is in charge. In three weeks, he has consigned Buhari’s eight years into the dustbin of history. Well done! Bravo. No matter your shortcomings (and you do have them), no objective observer can deny that you have exceeded everybody’s expectations. The only thing I will appeal to the President to do is to find a way to reflect the Southeast commensurately to their population, and not according to the votes they gave him, in his security architecture and government. Inclusion will reduce agitation. That aside, let me add that this is the leadership that Awolowo would have given if Nigeria had given him the chance. I doff my heart to the President. But my support is still for Waziri Atiku!
Many people are hungry. And seeing you well fed and well dressed is automatically a provocation to them. Sadly, poverty affects your mental health. Hunger aggravates anger. Shortages makes people short tempered. Lack gets them off track. That is why you should not quarrel with everyone who wants to fight with you. Instead, give a hungry dog food and it will stop barking at you. You were never the problem. Hunger was always the problem.
Funny enough, President Tinubu is acting the way we expected a former General to act. Unfortunately, the former General we had acted even below what we expected from an inexperienced civilian.
Moral of the story: Don't judge a book by its cover! #TableShaker
