An average Yoruba person understands the meaning of the word “ÀRÌNFESÈSÍ” ( A Day of Misfortune).
In as much
as the literally meaning is not far fetched and it is used in negative contexts; being in the wrong
place at the wrong time,there are so many “ÀRÌNFESÈSÍ “ we may have all experienced at
some point in our lives…They only come with different degree of regrets.
ÀRÌNFESÈSÍ ( A Day of Misfortune) is a movie that is set to keep you on your toes. The story is
a reflection of our present society that aims at further creating awareness of the decadence in
the society, the dubious nature of man and it’s ripple effects on the society at large.
The production of the film was in Ibadan and a rural community called Ijaiye in Oyo state. The
movie is in English but has a Yoruba setting.
The film was shot within two months in 2022
starring brilliant actors like Bolaji Ogunmola , Shawn Faqua, Akin Lewis, Oyindamola Sanni,
Jaye Kuti, Akinnayajo Babatunde and host of others.
This masterpiece is executively produced by Aurum Productions and produced by Unique
Motion Media Konsult; the producers behind “Midnight” the cinema blockbuster in 2019,
acquired by Africa Magic and Netflix.
ÀRÌNFESÈSÍ is artistically directed by Akinnayajo Babatunde also know as Mr Tunez
Filmmaker.

showing in Cinemas nationwide from May 12, 2023.
