BREAKING: Frank Lebouef Says #Chelsea Manager, #Potter Will Be Sacked—-Frank Lebouef has described Chelsea ‘a big mess’ over the imminent signing of Arsenal transfer target Mikhailo Mudryk.
Chelsea were one of the biggest spenders in last summer’s transfer window, lavishing a total of £280 million.
The West London side brought in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, and Marc Cucurella who joined from Brighton.
But these players have done little to justify their hefty price tags and former defender Lebouef fears Graham Potter won’t be given the time he needs to rebuild the squad.
The Blues are looking to sign more players this month and look set to table bids for Mudryk and have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Argentina World Cup star Enzo Fernandez.
Lebouef believed interest in both players is another indication of Chelsea just looking to throw money at the various problems they have.
He told ESPN FC: “It’s sad in a way if Mr Potter knew he had no fingerprints to put inside the club he shouldn’t have signed because he knew he would be in a washing machine.
“Somebody has to pay the price and it’s always the coach because you cannot change five or six players.
“We all see what is going wrong inside that team. I don’t think Mr Potter has a chance to build something I thought he was picked to change the way of Chelsea not buying stars.
“We see all those players struggling because there is no idea and no plan whatsoever. The only one who can have a plan is Mr Potter because he’s the head of the team.
“It’s going to be a big mess. It’s what we have right now. You buy players, put everyone together but you don’t know what to do with it, so it’s a big mess.”
