This is coming after Peter Obi was widely criticised and accused of shunning the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State, Chief Beatrice Itubo during his recent visit to the state.
Itubo has reportedly been ill for two weeks after she was involved in a domestic accident. SaharaReporters learnt Itubo has been on crutches as she recuperates from what looks like a sprained ankle.
Reacting to the criticism, he said he wasn’t informed about her sickness but still soryy about the oversight.
He wrote:
My sincere apologies to Mrs Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party candidate in Rivers State for an inadvertent oversight. When I visited Port Harcourt a few days back, I was not informed or aware of her sickness.
