BREAKING: #Tinubu Risks Disqualification As #INEC Announces Probe Of #Jagaban’s Narcotic Deals—The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has established communication with the United States Court of Northern Illinois on the alleged drug dealings of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Recall that the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois recently released fresh documents holding Bola Tinubu’s encounter with American authorities over allegations of narcotics trafficking and money laundering.
The 54-page court document showed Tinubu and two others named K.O. Tinubu and Alhaji Mogati as involved in banking proceeds of illicit drugs and money laundering with Heritage Bank and Citibank.
A statement by INEC director of publicity, Festus Okoye, said the commission is studying the documents and communicating with the Illinois District Court to establish whether the offence contravenes the Electoral Act.
Okoye assures that its findings and decision would be communicated to the general public within ten working days.
