BREAKING: kidnap kingpin, #Evans And Accomplice Jailed 21 Years—An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Monday sentenced the convicted kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans and his accomplice, Victor Aduba to 21 years imprisonment to life imprisonment for kidnapping a businessman Slyvanus Ahamonou and collecting N$420,000 as ransom from his family.
Evans and his co-defendant, Victor Aduba were found guilty of conspiring and kidnapping Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia on 23 June 2014 at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
The duo were were alleged to have captured and detained Hafia and demanded a ransom of $2 million.
Although they pleaded not guilty to the four charges, they were found guilty by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo
The judge held that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to other aspiring kidnappers.
Evans was arrested in June 2017 at his Magodo, Lagos residence.
