Obafemi Musa Ogunlana Confirmed As Auditor-General For Local Governments—-The Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA), under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Obafemi Musa Ogunlana as the Auditor-General/Permanent Secretary for Local Governments.
The confirmation followed the appointment of Ogunlana as Auditor-General/Permanent Secretary-designate for the Office of Auditor-General for Local Governments by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The appointee graduated with a B.Sc degree in Accounting and M.Sc degree in Business Administration (Management) in 1991 and 1995 respectively from the University of Lagos. He started his career with the defunct Citizens Bank in 1992 and also worked with BT Samuel & Co Chartered Accountants in 1994 before joining the Lagos State Public Service at the Local Government Level in 1995.
Before his recent appointment, Ogunlana was a Substantive Director and Head of various Directorates in the Office of State Auditor-General, where he anchored and managed the financials and records of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the State Government.
He also managed the Office of the State Auditor-General’s first Performance Audit Engagement: “Continuous Maintenance of Lagos Roads (An Assessment of Lagos State Public Works Corporation: June 2015 – June 2017)”, as well as many Special Investigations that proffered systemic remedies, strengthened business processes, forestalled wastages and enhanced service delivery and good governance among others.
Mr. Obafemi Musa Ogunlana is an astute Public Sector Administrator and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) with extensive financial management and control experience.
