The convict was charged with human trafficking after attempting to facilitate the illegal entry of a minor from Abakpa, Enugu state, to Libya.
Delivering judgment, Justice Jane Inyang, summarily sentenced Tagoe after he pleaded guilty to trafficking.
Inyang did not give the convict an option of fine.
Earlier, Mr Abdullahi Babale, the prosecution counsel and counsel to the National Agency for the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP,, told the court that the convict was arrested on Jan. 24 at Paro Hotel, Kano.

Babale said the convict was arrested while attempting to procure the illegal entry of the 14-year-old girl to Libya.
Babale said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 29 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition)  Enforcement and Administration Act of 2015, and  punishable under Section 26(1) of the Act.
The NAPTIP lawyer further submitted that the First Information Report (FIR), indicated that the trip’s itinerary was to be through Kano, Katsina, Niger Republic and Libya as the final destination
