Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), in collaboration with Future City Nigeria, on Wednesday visited Otto Community in Lagos Mainland Local Government to engage its leaders on the environmental and social needs of the slum area.
The delegation led by Tpl. Adebola Owokade of LASURA and Mr. Adeolu Ojo of Future City Nigeria informed the community leaders that the visit was for positive engagement, collation of necessary information on the state of the environment and determining the social needs of the community towards proffering necessary solutions for an improved living of all the residents.
Welcoming the team, the Odofin of Otto, Chief Ayinla Akinola, thanked the Agency and Future City Nigeria for the visit, stressing that the desire of residents of the community is for a better environment and improvement in social status.
The inspection team was later taken around the community by Mr. Akeem Esuruosho, a community leader, to enable members of the team to observe the various challenges facing the community in order for the government to rectify the situation.
Other leaders of the community present during the team visit were High Chief Lamina Akinlolu, the Ojomu of Otto; Chief Muheenu Shokoya, a community member and Prince Taiye Akinlolu a youth leader.
