FALA 2021 Awards: Transforming Africa Youth Narrative

The 9th edition of the Future Africa Leaders Awards (FALA) Foundation, an initiative of Rev. Chris Oyakhilome (PhD), founder and President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has continued to affects the Africa society.

The FALA award had produced 90 winners across Africa since inception in 2013. The foundation identifies young leaders who are positively impacting and developing their communities, society across Africa.

At the media briefing held in Lagos, Nigeria yersterday, for the 2021 winners, were nine top winners and the Star winner for year were unveiled. The winners reel out their impactful programmes and dreams for the African continent and how they emerged winners.

The event had in attendance Pastor T.T. Temisan, member of Central Executive Council Loveworld Inc. and Pastor Ayodele Adedeji senior program officer FALF and many others.

Speaking at the press briefing in Lagos, Pastor T.T. Temisan noted that Africa has been associated with various vices such as epidemic, corruption, diseases etc, adding that is why “it is being nicknamed black continent.”
 
He however said, the youths would have to change the narrative, saying “the best of change is not violent protests to destroy the little Infrastructures that we have; trying to radically change civil order but rather change their communities, not waiting for libraries to be built but build it; not waiting for governments to solve problem of transportation but to do it for themselves; not waiting for bailouts but to be self-dependent.”

However, Camerounian Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop emerged the Star Award with a sum of $25,000. Tetsop is an exceptional innovator and community builder with great enthusiasm for youth leadership development.


 
According to the organizers, the aim is to motivate others to aspire for relevance through several workshops and seminars on career orientation, leadership, and impact opportunities, he is leading positive change in his nation with the use of technology.
 
Other winners are Anna Maneno Michael Milla (South Sudan – 20 years), Cesar Komi Aguidi (Togo – 23 years), Prince Funsani Zulu (Zambia – 21 years), Hillary Nakitare (Kenya – 23 years), Manzi Guevara (Rwanda – 23 years), Isaac Bitrus Nggida (Nigeria – 23 years), Deo-Gratias Meyou (Benin Republic – 24 years), Prisca Torboal (Chad – 23 years), Emmanuel Gyan Finawah (Ghana – 23 years), who bagged $10,000 each.

Some of the winners focus on Gender-based, Education, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship Skills, and other sectors that can resolve the Africa problem and improve the continent as a whole.

Recall, Pastor Chris had hosted former Presidents Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and Africa Diaspora Development Initiative (ADDI) and former African Union Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, during the unveiling of the winners in December 2021.
 
Winners from the 2021 Future Africa Leaders Awards are the latest to benefit from President of Loveworld Incorporated, the Christ Embassy Ministry, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s generosity who has not slowed down in his quest for youth leadership and excellence across Africa.
