The United trained Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has said that there is no petition against her by human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) over her position on the death of Sylvester Oromoni.
The Genius Media Nigeria had reported that the family of the deceased through the renowned legal practitioner petitioned Kemi for asserting that Sylvester agreed to be beaten and willingly drank engine oil as part of the initiation process.
Reacting in a post on her Facebook page on Tuesday, Kemi averred that Mr Falana is lying to the public as there is no petition signed by the lawyer asking the police to invite her for questioning.
Kemi maintained that she’s doing her job as an independent journalist while adding that even United States human rights lawyers do not petition the police to question a journalist.
The controversial journalist furthered dared the senior lawyer to serve her the petition while equally declaring that “war is coming”.
Below is her post.
Dear Mr Falana, we have no petition signed by you asking the police to invite me for questioning.
Pls stop lying to the public. No US human rights lawyer petitions the police to question a journalist. Journalists protect the source.
I cannot mention names and will plead the 5thInviting me will seriously DAMAGE Sylvester Oromoni’s case.
I’m an independent journalist. Get that into your head Falana. Let the cops do their investigation and I do mine.
Can you petition police to invite BBC or CNN? Your ignorance does not excuse stupidity.
Serve us the petition. War is coming Falana
