MICHAEL CARRICK: Meet Manchester United Interim Manager—-Its no more news that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked by Manchester United after a 4-1 defeat to Watford and failure to lead the club to promised land.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Immediately after Solskjaer sack, Manchester United named Michael Carrick as caretaker manager
Carrick was appointed as coach under Jose Mourinho and was kept on by Solskjaer.
Carrick will lead the team against Villarreal, and possibly Chelsea next weekend.
He is unproven as a manager. The game against Villarreal will be his first in the dugout in sole charge.
For many, Carrick is too closely aligned with Solskjaer to make a major difference, but this is an interesting chance for him to prove he can be his own man.
Carrick won’t come into consideration for the full time role.
United are working behind the scenes on a potential replacement for Solskjaer, although there is no timeframe on when this might be.
