The Genius Media Nigeria gathered that Nigerian shot putter Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has disclosed that he only has one jersey, further exposing the harsh conditions Nigerian athletes have been facing at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Despite leading his country to the last round of the shot put event at the Olympics, Mr Enekwechi disclosed in a TikTok video shared on his Instagram page that he only has one jersey and has to wash it at night in preparation for the next day’s games.
According to reports, Nigerian athletes are forced to wash their only jersey every day in other to have something to wear for the next day/event.
This online medium has gathered that the Puma kit of the Nigerian contingent to the games is lying somewhere in Japan as Nigerian officials cant get them cleared to the games village thereby forcing the athletes to wash their jersey very night in preparartion for the next day’s event.
Other prominent athletes including sprint star, Blessing Okagbare and Basketball giant, Chimezie Metu have also spoken out about the problems Nigerian athletes face during the Olympics.
