BREAKING: Boko Haram Claims Responsibility For Missing Air Force Jet, Releases Video Of Dead Pilots—-24 hours after Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has declared one of its aircraft lost radar contact on Wednesday while on a mission in the Northeast, Boko Haram terrorists on Friday released footage showing its fighters shooting down a fighter jet mid-air.

The video also showed fighters carrying RPG & artillery equipment, as well as a corpse of the pilot & the aircraft’s debris as gathered by The Genius Media Nigeria on Hum Angle Twitter page.

The aircraft was on a mission to provide support for troops on the ground fighting Boko Haram insurgents.

Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesperson, in a statement on Friday, said the whereabouts of the two flying officers piloting the jet were unknown.

Boko Haram in a video released on Friday claimed its members shot down the jet.

According to HumAngle, the group also showed fighters carrying RPG and artillery equipment, as well as a corpse of the pilot and the aircraft’s debris.

In February, an aircraft of the AirForce crashed at the Abuja airport — with all seven personnel on board dead.

It will be recalled that Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has arrived in Borno State on Thursday amidst the circumstances surrounding the missing Nigeria Air Force (NAF) fighter jet.

This online news medium had reported that the Nigerian AirForce on Friday said that the Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) that went off the radar on Wednesday may have crashed.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet made this known in a statement titled ‘Update On Missing NAF Alpha Jet Aircraft.’
