BREAKING!!! President And Four Players Die In Early Morning Plane Crash—According to reports making waves in the media space, the President of Brazzilian football club Palmas has died alongside four players in the northern state of Tocantis.
TGM reports that five of them were on their way to play a football match when the plane suddenly plunged to the ground at the end of the runway while taking off.
The players were traveling in a private plane because they had tested positive for COVID-19, club spokesperson Izabela Martins told The Associated Press. Martins said that Sunday would have been their last day of isolation and that the rest of the team would travel on a commercial flight.
In 2016, 19 players from Brazilian club Chapecoense died in a crash in Colombia while on their way to play a football match at Medellin in an accident that killed 71 people.
