Yobe State Senator, Adamu Garba Fails To Appear In Court For Suit Against Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey—Adamu Garba, Former presidential candidate has failed to appear in court for the $1bn suit he filed against Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey over #EndSARS Matter.
This was made known on Twitter by Tope Akinyode, a Nigerian rights lawyer, who also revealed that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the case till April 2021.
The Genius Media had reported that Adamu Garba, sued Jack Dorsey for reportedly lending support to the ongoing #EndSARS protests rocking the nation.
The politician who is a member of APC, accused the Tech Guru of meddling in the affairs of Nigeria and holds him responsible for the resultant violence that erupted from the protests.
Adamu is asking the court to compel Jack to pay the Nigerian government $1 billion as compensation for all the damages caused by the #EndSARS protest.
He is also asking the court to compel Jack to establish a Twitter office here in Nigeria. He alleged that the grand plan of Jack and others is to topple the government of the day.
Tope Akinyode, who was in court for the hearing today, gave an update on the case via his Twitter handle. Tope who has represented some of the #EndSARS protesters in Abuja in court, wrote
”BREAKING: I was at the Federal High Court today to defend Adamu Garba’a lawsuit against @jack and @Twitter. However, @adamugarba & his lawyers failed to show up in Court without given reasons & the Court has now adjourned case to 22nd April, 2021.”
