LAYCON VS OMAH LAY: Fans Fight Over Headies Next Rated Artist Award—A twitter debate has been going on all day between overly excited fans of fast rising star, Laycon and singer Omah Lay over Headies 2020 Next Rated Artist Award.
The fan clash arose after Headies announced that it has opened up it’s doors for nominations and called on artistes across the country to submit their works ahead of its 14th edition award.
In comparing the two artistes on twitter, Laycon’s fan’s popularly called icons insisted that he deserved to win the award as his EP “Who Is Laycon” gained over 10 million streams across music platforms.
Fans of Omah Lay however countered the icons by saying that Omah Lay has more hit songs and features in the year under review than Laycon.
Team Omah Lay said Headies is not a reality TV show and that Omar Lay deserves it better.
However, others are of the opinion that since Headies Next Rated is done by vote, that Laycon might win because of his huge fanbase.
