BREAKING: Obaseki And Shaibu Sworn-In For Second Term – #EdoDecides2020—-Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, and his deputy, Philip Shaibu have been sworn in for a second term in office.
Thehe duo was sworn in on Thursday at the Tennis Court of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, after the expiration of their first term in office.
Obaseki had defeated the APC candidate in the September 19, 2020 governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, to be re-elected governor of the state.
Present at the ceremony were Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, and Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State. Others were the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, and some party chieftains.
It was learned that PresidentMuhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were represented by a government official at the event.
