BREAKING: Governor Akeredolu Emerges Winner Of Ondo 2020 Gubernatorial Election—-Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged winner of the Ondo 2020 guber election conducted on the 10th of October, 2020 under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress.
The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Idowu Olayinka said Akeredolu met all conditions required to be returned as governor-elect for the state after he polled 292,914 votes in 12 out of the 18 local government areas of the state.
Akeredolu will be serving the state for a second term after he defeated his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede who was able to pull just 195,431 votes.
Akeredolu maintained a comfortable lead after 16 of the 18 LGAs’ results were announced while Jegede won in Akure South, Akure North, and Ifedore LGAs while the Deputy Governor and Zenith Labour Party candidate, Agboola Ajayi, won none.
