#EndSARS PROTEST: IGP Adamu Reacts To Death Of Policeman As Protest Turns Violent—-What was meant to be a peaceful march turned violent when the #EndSARS protesters in Ughelli, Delta State attacked policemen, destroyed operational vehicles on Thursday 8th October, 2020.
This brutal and cruel actions of their have been greatly condemned by the Inspector General Of Police, Adamu. he said the force will no longer tolerate any attack on its personnel or any member of the law enforcement community by any individual or group protesting under any guise.
Although unconfirmed reports claim that the protest turned violent after a police officer opened fire on the protesters, and one of the fired shots allegedly landed on a little boy who was around the area of the protest.
A statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, says the protesters murdered one Corporal Etaga Stanley attached to ‘A’ Division, nflicted gunshot wounds on another officer, Sergeant Patrick Oku
”The protesters also carted away one (1) service AK47 rifle with breach no 56-2609008 and 25 rounds of live ammunition that was with the deceased at the time of the incident.” Mba’s statement read.
The IGP condoled with the family and friends of the late Corporal Etaga Stanleya and directed the Commissioner of Police, Delta State to carry out a discrete investigation into the unfortunate incident, root-out the perpetrators, and bring the killer protesters to book.
