BREAKING: IGP Adamu Bans FSARS Officers From Patrols, Stop And Search Duties – #EndSARS—-Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), the Special Tactical Squad (STS), and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has been banned by police IG from undertaking routine patrols as well as stop and search duties.
This statement was disclosed on Sunday on the directive of IGP Muhammed Adamu by police spokesman, Frank Mba.
This new directive is coming as a result of recent alleged criminal and extra-judicial actions of FSARS officers against citizens in various parts of the country.
All FSARS, STS, IRT & other Tactical @PoliceNG Squads operating at Federal, Zonal & Command levels are hereby BANNED from carrying out routine patrols & other conventional low-risk duties – stop & search duties, checkpoints, roadblocks, traffic checks, etc – WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT pic.twitter.com/9xWQJhTDOP
