Tottenham Confirms Gareth Bale’s New Shirt Number [SEE NUMBER]—A deal between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur saw Gareth Bale being re-signed by Spurs to join the team for a season.
He had previously wore thenumber 11 shirt at White Hart Lane but will now wear the number 9 shirt during the duration of his contract with the club.
“We are delighted to announce the return of @GarethBale11 to the Club on a season-long loan from Real Madrid!” Tottenham’s official Twitter page tweeted.
Gareth Bale signed as a 17-year-old from Southampton in 2007. He left for Madrid on a then world-record transfer and returned to North London after seven years.
He has made 203 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 55 goals before leaving in 2013.
