In lieu of this, Messi handed in a transfer request to the Barca board last week, with a view to triggering the clause in his contract which allows him to leave the club at the end of each season.
The clause in question expired in June but the Argentine’s legal team is ready to argue that he should be allowed to terminate his deal unilaterally due to the 2019-20 season being extended into August because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Any Camp Nou exit is now clouded with rumours as La Liga’s governing body recently stated that the Argentine attacker isn’t allowed to make a move from the club for anything short of his staggering €700 million (£624m/$823m) release clause.
Reacting to this via his twitter handle, TB Joshua however adviced him not to leave Barcelona bitter and offended.
He twitted:
‘It is not good advice for Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona bitter and offended. It is impossible to establish a healthy relationship with a person who left a previous relationship bitter and offended. This is my candid advice to Messi. History is our boss.” – TB Joshua’
