Former super Eagles Striker, Odion Ighalo has expressed his excitement after Manchester United secured their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
United confirmed their place in Europe’s elite club competition after they beat top four rivals Leicester City 2-0 at King Power stadium, in Sunday’s final fixture of the season.
Second half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard saw United finish the season in third position.
Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 71st minute from the penalty spot before Lingard sealed the win in the 98th minute.
Ighalo, who did not get on the score sheet in the course of the Premier League, was introduced in the 90th minute of the game.
And reacting to United’s qualification for the Champions League, Ighalo wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “So proud of this team.”
United are not done for the season as they are in the knockout stage of this season’s Europa League.
