Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen, will wear the No 9 Jersey at Napoli next season, should his move to the Italian Serie A club goes through, according to Italian website Tuttomercatoweb.
After a protracted contract negotiation between Napoli and Lille, Osimhen’s current club, the Italians are expected to announce a five-year deal for a reported €60m plus bonuses that could rise to €81m, for the Nigerian, according to RMC.
“The Nigerian striker has already chosen the shirt to wear after the transfer. the No.9, the number currently ‘occupied’ by Fernando Llorente,” the website wrote.
The report also revealed that Orestis Karnezis, Napoli’s third-choice goalkeeper, could be included in the deal to sign Osimhen from Lille.
“In the negotiation with Lille, goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, currently the third goalkeeper of Napoli could be included.
“Osimhen will be a Napoli player. All done for the transfer from Lille of the attacker for €60m, which can go up to €81m through bonuses.”
Gonzalo Higuaín, Gianfranco Zola, Daniel Fonseca, Nicola Amoruso and Simone Verdi are some of the past stars who worn the No.9 shirt for the Blues.
