Acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, passed out during a session of the house of representatives committee probing the commission, on Monday.
He passed out while testifying before the panel before the committee set up to investigate the alleged misappropriating of funds in the commission.
Efforts from witnesses to resuscitate him were, however, effective when he regained consciousness shortly afterwards. The NDDC Chairman left the probe panel after feeling unwell and could not continue his defence.
The moment NDDC Chairman, Kemebradikumo Pondei collapsed is coming after the acting NDDC MD had in the previous week staged a walkout on the House of Representatives committee on NDDC, noting that the Chairman of the Committee on Niger Delta, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, is a man of interest in the ongoing investigation.
The claim by the NDDC Chairman saw the Chairman of the Committee on Niger Delta stepping aside on Monday.
