Starboy Records CEO, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as #Wizkid is 30 year old today.
Fans have started pouring out congratulatory messages and emotional posts to celebrate the successful musician who has held the Nigerian music industry down for so long.
Wizkid is said to be one of the musicians who paved the way for international recognition of some Nigerian artistes. He has done collaborations with the bigwigs of international music. The likes of Beyonce, Drake, Skepta, to mention a few are known ally’s of his.
In Africa at the moment, Wizkid is regarded as the biggest artiste due to his track record. He ventured into music at the age of 7 under the name Lil Prinz. He was in the church choir before delving into Hip-hop.
On his emergence into professional music, he was signed under Banky W’s record label, EME records, which contributed immensely to his success. Some of his first singles include Pakurumo, I love my baby, Holla at your boy, Gidi girl, to mention a few and his first album was titled Superstar, a project that launched him out to greatness.
He has won several awards to his credit, both locally and internationally.
