#Ebonyi Governor, David Umahi on Friday ordered the shutting down of all Courts in the state immediately.
The Governor gave the directive in a broadcast to residents.
He also ordered all staff of the Judiciary in the state to immediately proceed for COVID-19 testing.
He announced the state has recorded its first Covid-19 death, which he described as regrettable and saddening.
According to the latest data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the state has 234 confirmed Covid-19 cases
Meanwhile, the Association of #Ebonyi State Indigenes in Disapora (AESID), a non-governmental organization, has decried the alleged anti-democratic tendencies of the Ebonyi state government.
The group in a statement sent to journalists on Saturday, June 13 by its president, Ambassador Pascal Oluchukwu, condemned the recent arrest of a former commissioner for information in the state, Chief Abia Onyike. It said the arrest order was issued to the Directorate of State Security Services (DSS) by Governor Umahi
