Super Eagles Captain was accused by the Nigerian media of being infected with the virus after he returned from Saudi Arabia and checked himself into self-isolation from family and friends.

To prove his status on the virus, the player took a test which he shared details on his instagram page. He was seen with a health worker, taking samples from his mouth for testing purposes.

He wrote;

I just want to use this medium to thank every one of you my friends and family for your prayers and message of support throughout my process of self-isolation. ⁣

Its been a humbling experience and I implore you all to continue to practice the advised social distancing guidelines by the government & the @ncdcgov.

Together we can beat this virus and return to our normal lives. Thanks once again. I appreciate you all
