Argentine professional footballer and Juventus star Paulo Dybala has tested positive for COVID-19 for the fourth time in six weeks, claims Spanish programme El Chiringuito.

He confirmed via Instagram on March 21 that he and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatini both tested positive for the coronavirus.

This came after Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi also contracted the virus.

According to El Chiringuito, Dybala has undergone in all four tests over the last six weeks and the most recent was positive.

It would mean he has not been able to shake off the disease and might require more intensive treatment.

Considering Juve are meant to get back to training from May 4 to May 18, that also puts a spanner in the works for La Joya’s chances of playing.

It remains to be seen whether Dybala’s test was indeed positive and where Juventus go from here if it was.

He wouldn’t be alone, as Atalanta goalkeeper, Marco Sportiello tested positive, then negative, then positive again.

The most likely next step would be a blood test to see if Dybala has developed antibodies, and if so, how many of them.

“I developed strong symptoms, but today I already feel much better,” he told his club’s official YouTube account on March 27.

“Now I can move better, walking and trying to train. I could hardly breathe, I couldn’t do anything after five minutes.

“My muscles ached. Fortunately, Oriana and I are better now.”
