A family has reportedly been roaming the town of Nyeri with a coffin plastered with images of a deceased kin and a collection bowl to raise money for the hospital bills and funeral.
According to details gathered by occupygh.com, the deceased, Robert Mbaoni died with a huge medical bill accruing on his name, making it hard for his family to proceed with the burial until the bill is cleared.
The family’s effort to get the hospital the kin died in to lower the bills have been futile.
The bill, reportedly amounting to $1,2643.00 simply is above the family’s reach. They organized a fundraiser and managed to raise $3000.00 which would not be enough even after adding Ksh. 159,000 remitted by NHIF.
The family finally decided to walk the streets of their town to beg and raise money to cater for the hospital bills and burial of the deceased.
