Former Brazil international Hulk has been dating the niece of his ex-wife Iran Angelo de Souza.
The 33-year-old, who now plays his football in China, has confirmed the relationship with Camila, 31, through his advisers and said he was always transparent.
The Shanghai SIPG player insists he called Camila’s parents and brother last weekend and told them the truth.
According to a report by UOL, the duo started dating in October following Hulk’s split with wife Iran in July after a 12-year marriage.
A representative for the player reportedly said the player is in the best position to come out plain
“It’s in his position to be transparent, to avoid lies and malicious comments.
“Remember the Brazilian’s marriage ended in July and Camila was also separated for many months.”
The spokesman said Hulk told his family and children about the relationship and, on the same day, called Camila’s parents and brother.
The couple spent Christmas together back in Brazil in Campina Grande.
Hulk and Iran had three children together, Ian, ten, Tiago, eight, and Alice, six.
The powerful forward still plies his trade in the Chinese Super League but Espanyol are hoping to sign the former Brazil international on loan until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old scored 17 goals in 37 games for Shanghai SIPG last season.
