A Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State, on Friday, December 13, 2019, restrained the Nigerian police and other security agencies from arresting Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in connection with the recent Oraifite mayhem.
TGM understands that this was disclosed to News Express by an associate of Ejiofor.
TGM gathered that the Federal High Court sitting in Awka presided over by Hon. Justice Quadri of court No 2 this evening ordered all the security agencies mentioned as Respondents in Ejiofor’s fundamental rights suit to maintain status quo in the matter with a warning not to arrest him pending the hearing and determination of the Originating Motion On Notice.
According to reports, the order has been enrolled.
