Barrister Moses Oruaze Dickson was presented with the prestigious merit award at the maiden edition of Bayelsa Gender Champions Awards on Friday November 29, 2019 for his outstanding contributions to the fight against gender-based violence and the rehabilitation of victims.
The Gender Champions Award is the first of its kind in Bayelsa and it is aimed at celebrating all gender champions who have contributed in one way or the other to put smiles on the faces of victims of rape and defilement. The Gender Champion Award is part of the activities of the Bayelsa Gender Champions Week 2019 and it is organized by the DO Foundation. It was an occasion to celebrate the courage, doggedness, selflessness and outstanding contributions of individuals, civil society organizations, corporate organizations to seeking justice and rehabilitation of victims of gender-based violence.
The award was received on his behalf by the Programme Coordinator of Goldcoast Developmental Foundation Ms. Chinwe Okolie. She appreciated the organizers for the initiative and expressed the resolve of the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation to the continuum fight and elimination of gender-based violence in our society.
Moses Oruaze Dickson is a Nigerian lawyer, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist. He is the managing solicitor of Triax Solicitors; a Bayelsa State, Nigeria-based law firm. He was born on August 13, 1985 in Toru-Orua Town of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Oruaze holds a distinction in Master of Law- LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Bedfordshire, as well as a first degree, Law, and a Bachelors in Law from the Nigerian Law School.
Oruaze founded the Solalina Investment Group, a company with interest in various industries, including oil and gas. He is the founder of the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation. In October 2018, the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation provided relief materials to women and children affected by the flood in the Niger Delta region and received a commendation from the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, during his visits to flood-affected states.
DO Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization whose core objectives are centered but not limited to the advancement of Justice, Security, Development and more particularly the protection of vulnerable persons with special abilities in society. The DO Foundation was founded in 2017 by Barrister Dise Sheila Ogbise-Erhisere with its head office situated in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.
